Weekly Weigh In

Starting Weight: 185.6
5% Goal by April 1: 9lbs
Current Weight: 177.6
+/- for Week: -3
+/- Total: -8

Almost to my 5% Goal!!!

Because I'm Breastfeeding, WW says I shouldn't lose more then 1lb per week and that I should add more points on if I am losing more then that. I don't agree! I'm eating all my points plus my extra weekly points. My milk supply is great. I am going to start eating some oatmeal and drinking Mother's Milk Tea just to make sure it stays that way.

Yea for Weight Loss + Breastfeeding!!

Family Visit

We've had an exciting week with both Jee Jee (my mom) and my sister April visiting! Jee Jee came down for the weekend to help with my garage sale and April came on Monday.

Aunt April taught Ethan how much fun it is to kick the ball around the back yard.

She also bought him a bear tent that he loves! He takes his stuffed animals and his books inside.

Hard Week

This week was hard on me. I had several emotionally breakdowns and wanted to eat everything in site. We ate fast food TWICE this week because I didn't want to cook. The first time I did okay on points, only going over 5 for the day. But the second time I made the wrong choices and probably used all my extra points for the week and the food didn't even taste that good! I didn't walk at all this week.

We've been eating a lot of grilled chicken salads and chicken salad sandwiches. Flat Out bread has a lot of low point options. I've been using the Flat Out fold over for 3 points each. My mom said she found some that are 2 points and I'm keeping an eye out for those.

Salsa has become my friend. I make my own from Here and I eat it on everything because it's FREE! I hardly miss the chips ;)

Has anyone else noticed that the Weight Watcher 1 point Ice Cream Bars are now 3 points? I will not pay that much $ or points for them. I found the Blue Bell Chocolate Bars are also 3 points but a bit smaller and they are cheaper.

With all that being said, I lost 3lbs!!
Starting Weight: 185.6
5% Goal by April 1: 9lbs
Current Weight: 180.3
+/- for Week: 3
+/- Total: 5

I ordered Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred so I'll have a work out to do if I don't get to walk. I'll let you know how it goes.

Spring Time!

It's that time again! Time to get outside and get dirty. Eli "loves" when I suggest working outside because he always ends up doing most of the work. I take care of the babies.

Ethan loves planting and playing in the dirt.

Even though we didn't get one tomato last year we planted them again. We are only doing tomatoes and peppers. Got to love that Texas heat!

Eli loves to plant flowers in our flower bed even if they never survive and hardly ever make any more flowers. Ethan decided these flowers needed to be picked before they were planted. It's amazing how many flowers he pulled off before we caught him.

My herb "garden". I have mint, basil, cilantro, and yes, I am trying to grow rosemary again. I think this is my 5th time?

I love the spring!

Can you Afford that Cookie?

*I like to look at my WW points as currency. When I start to eat something I think to myself a few things:
Can I afford this?
Is this worth spending my points?
If I eat this will I have enough left over for another snack? (I'm always thinking ahead to my next meal!)
I have thrown away food that did not taste good enough to waist points on (like some of those frozen "diet" meals). You may think you have "so many" points but by the end of the day there just are never enough.

The new PlusPoints program puts a higher weight on Carbs (except for fruit which is free) so the things I use to eat that were low in points are now higher in points. Sometimes as much as 3 times! Being a Carb (bread, chips, potatoes, beans) addict this has been hard on me. For example: I use to take a pita, cut it up and toast it in the oven and use it to dip beans and salsa for a total of 3 points. Now 1 pita is 3 points and 1/2 cup of beans are 3 points! I've had to change my eating habits which I guess is the whole point of the new program.

I've made sure to have veggies in our dinner every night, something I wasn't doing before. I buy a big bag of frozen and cook them in the microwave. Fill up on the veggies because they are free!!

I walked almost every day this week. It sometimes takes me 1/2 an hour just to get out of the house. After getting everyone ready then nurse the baby then someone needs a diaper change and then the other one needs a diaper change then strap the baby on in the Ergo and Ethan in the stroller then we are out the door. Whew!

Everyone else is doing it so I guess I will too. Here it is, my weight.

*I started WW when I was a Senior in College (2002) and have been doing the program off and on ever since then.

Lily Dawn- 2 Months Old

Sweet Baby Lily is 2 months old! At her last weigh in she was 11lbs 12oz. We will go to the Doctor next week for her 2 month check up and shots.

Her eyes are still dark blue and look a little green to me in some light.

Big Brother is still enjoying playing with her and wants to be held by whoever is holding her!

She is smiling socially and is already loving the camera.

I am now starting to track her sleep patterns and working on getting her on a schedule. I'm still in love with the book Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child by Marc Weissbluth. She takes several naps in the day and sleeps for a long stretch (4-7 hours) at night in her own bed.

As soon as we got over RSV she got a clogged tear duct. Poor baby's eye swelled up and had goop coming out. I put breast milk in it every time we nursed and washed and massaged it with a cloth and she was good as new the next day.

She is starting to reach for toys that are in front of her and will grab on to them if I put them in her hand.

How fun it is to watch her grow and learn!

Losing It

Weight, that is. I'm ready to start seeing the pounds drop off. I don't care where they go just as long as they are not on my thighs. I love being pregnant and having babies. I love eating. What I don't love is my thighs rubbing together when I walk and my clothes not fitting. I live in yoga pants because that's all I have that fit. I'm pretty sure the people at Walmart think I'm homeless. I refuse to buy any bigger clothes.

I started the new Weight Watchers program on Thursday. The new point system is a bit different then the old one but I love how many points I get. I get an extra 14 per day because I breastfeed Lily! I need them because I'm hungry all the time. Every time I do the WW plan I am amazed at what I put in my mouth. It makes me accountable to write everything down. When I do start to eat something I think about writing it down and it keeps me from over eating. I try to keep my water with me everywhere I go but still can't seem to get the 8 glasses in a day. Once Lily is all better I want to start walking at a near by park that has an excellent trail. I think I'll push Ethan in the walking stroller and have Lily in the Ergo carrier. We haven't  gotten a double stroller yet.

I don't think I'm brave enough to post my weight on here but I will keep you updated on how much I lose (or gain).

*Updated to add:
I have a short term 5% goal of 9lbs I would like to be at by the first of April.

Lily's First Trip- OKlahoma

Ethan, Lily and I went to visit my parents last week. This was Lily's first trip out of town/state. Mom came to pick us up so I wouldn't have to make the trip by myself. I don't think I could make it that far with 2!

We got to visit with Great-Grandma Billye.

Ethan played with Grandma Billye's coasters. I'm pretty sure these coasters have been played with by every grandchild and great-grandchild in the family!

While we were there, Ethan was sick for most of the time. He had a low fever and cough. He had a good time hanging out at Grandma's house until he started to feel better.

Little Lily got to wear her green butterfly dress Aunt April gave her to church. Everyone thought she was precious.

Once Ethan was feeling better we went out shopping. He loved riding in the shopping car!

Of course, as soon as we got home Lily got sick. We went to the doctor on Tuesday and she has RSV. We have been giving her breathing treatments and she is feeling much better. It is sooo hard to see your little baby so sick! Ethan never got sick this young. In fact, I've never taken him to the doctor for anything other then checkups and routine shots.
While at the doctor Lily got weighed- 11lbs 12oz!! She is wearing 3 month clothing at 7 weeks.

I'm glad they love each other even if they share germs.
