Weekly Weigh In

Starting Weight: 185.6
Last Weeks Weight: 161.4
Current Weight: 160.6
+/- Week: -.8
+/- Total: -24.4

At this rate I'm never going to get out of the 160's! I exercised a few times this week.

I also started back to yoga on Saturday. This was my first class that wasn't pre-natal or post-natal since I was pregnant with Lily (around 17 months). It was a "flow" class so you do one move, hold and then "flow" into the next. I think we did about 20 downward dogs. It felt so good to be moving my body again. I love yoga.

I also discovered how my right side is seriously tight and stressed.  I feel like I'm about 2 inches shorter on that side.  Yoga will help. It's really amazing how it helps to really feel your whole body.

When you have monkeys climbing all over you all day it's nice to be alone not thinking about anything but not falling over.

Do you do Yoga?

Goal: 8lbs by end of Sept.
-2.4

Ethan's Surprise!!

Are you ready for it? I know you've been waiting days for the BIG Surprise from Ethan!!! Well, here it is:

Yes, my friends, that's our little boy standing up!! Why does this come as a surprise, you ask? Well, Ethan has never been one of those babies who, when you held them up they will stretch their legs out and try to stand. He would just collapse and end up on his bum. I would try and try and he just wouldn't stand. So, I thought, Okay he just won't walk till he's 18months. That's okay. I don't want to have to chase him around anyway! But just last week when I was sitting him on the floor he stretched out his legs and stood up!I do have to admit I did put him in this standing position and he really only stood there for a few seconds each time but it is progress! This is how close to standing he gets on his own.And this. Does this look familiar? Legs up the wall is a yoga position that I did a lot during pregnancy.

Ethan has a good time kicking the wall. He also has found a small hole in the wall and enjoys sticking his finger it it! Thankfully it is not big enough to get anything, like his finger, stuck in it.

He likes to scoot backwards under his toy! Then he gets mad when he can't get out.

He will also do this under the coffee table. One of these days I'll tell him about when I was little I crawled under the coffee table, fell asleep, and got my earring caught in the shag carpet! Mom called the fire department and my hero showed up and cut me free. Thanks again, Scotty!

Yoga Mat

I've been wanting a bag for my yoga mat since before Ethan was born. Now it seems I need some way to carry it. Try juggling an infant, sometimes car seat, a large diaper bag and a yoga mat all at the same time! I didn't want to shell out the $40 or so for a bag. When I was at yoga last week, one of the other moms had a very simple strap that velcroed around her rolled up mat. I almost asked her where she got it but then I thought "That's so simple! I can make that." After thinking about it for a few days, here it is!!! I used 3 long strips of cloth, velcro and added a little shoulder pad. It took me most of the day to make it while tending to Ethan but I think if I didn't take breaks I could have had it done in 1/2 an hour! Can't wait to try it out on Thursday.

Another day at Yoga

Ethan and I went to yoga again last week. Here he is getting ready for class. All the babies lay on their blankets in front of our mats. Ethan is one of the youngest there but he always enjoys looking at the baby next to us. They are usually rolling over or trying to crawl off. I'm sure he's looking forward to doing the same. He was so good last week and didn't cry at all!

Ethan's First Yoga Class

As most of you know, I did yoga throughout my pregnancy and love it. Today was our first Postnatal class! It was also the first time Ethan has been around other babies. He was asleep when we first got there but woke up quickly when he heard another baby crying! He did cry at first so I nursed him for the first 10 mins. After that he started to enjoy himself while I was able to do the yoga. Most every baby there cried at least once and many were nursed to quite them down. I was able to talk to other Mom's, some I knew from prenatal, some new. I did meet one lady who had used the breast shields but only breastfeed for 6 weeks. It made me feel good that I held out this long! We are looking forward to going back each week.

We then went to the mall to visit and have lunch with one of my former co workers. Ethan slept the whole time! I guess he was worn out from all that yoga!

I think he looks just like his Daddy in the pic on the bottom! He was in a very grumpy mood when we came home from our day out.
