Ethan's 3rd Birthday at MDO

Ethan had his Birthday party at MDO yesterday. I sent cookies and my camera so the teacher could capture the moment. Last year they got to wear a crown. I guess they are too old for the crown this year :(.

Do you see how my son's plate is empty except for a cookie and a celery stick? I'm a good Mom and send him all his favorites to school. That and he won't eat much before going to school so I'm sure he is starving by the time 12 rolls around.

My boy is growing up!

Ethan's Letters

This year at Ethan's School (Mother's Day Out) Ethan is learning so much! He already new all his letters and could count to 10 before school started but he is enjoying the "review". Each week he comes home with a new letter. Eli had the great idea to take a photo with the letter when he brings it home.

Here he is saying "C".

They also color a picture that goes with the letter of the week.

He just so happened to wear his dinosaur t shirt on "D" day!

I think E is his favorite so far! We have a great game where we say the letter and take it to his room to hang up.

Then he says each letter before we add the new one.

He's so smart!

First Day of "School"- MDO

Ethan started back to his "school" today! He goes to a Mother's Day Out program twice a week for 4 hours.

I don't think he knew why I was taking his picture in the front yard. He didn't want to take his hand out of his mouth.

I finally got him to give me some what of  a smile without his hand!

Hands in the mouth again, he turned for a moment to let me snap a photo before running off to the playground.

Here he was last year on the first day. Look how much he's grown! Oddly enough he is still wearing these clothes.

I can't wait to pick him up to see how his first day went.

*Teacher said he had a great day! He didn't say a word all day (not surprising) until story time. Then he stood off by himself and told his OWN story. To himself. She said she couldn't get him to sit down with the rest of the group. Then he wouldn't nap until about 15 minutes before I pick him up. I guess he was just too excited about his first day!

School Days

While the kids and I were shopping at the thrift store we ran across this picture frame. I passed by it thinking that my babies were too little to need this right now.

But before we know it we will be here......

And not too long after that we will be here......

He loves it.

We will hang it in his room and add a new picture each year.

And when it is full and he has graduated from High School and moved on to College I will move it out into the Living Room so I can remember the day we bought it.

Skipping Halloween + Ethan's second time (or 3rd) to VOTE!!

We skipped Halloween this year. I was a bit too lazy to come up with a costume for Ethan to wear plus we really don't know any of our neighbors or have family close for trick or treating.

But Ethan did get to go to two Fall Festivals this year! The first was in Round Rock and we went with a friend and her little girl. It was so cold and windy I didn't get too many photos. Ethan dressed up in his "Dallas Cowboy's" warm up suit that Aunt April gave him for Christmas last year. It's the best I could come up with. The lines were so long and the games were not very age appropriate for our little ones so we rode the hay ride and played on the play ground.

The next day they had a "Fall Fest" at his school (MDO). He loved all the games and "won" some great prizes that Mom has enjoyed eating :)

He took me inside for some cookies and juice and to show me where he sits for lunch.

When we got home he was a bit wired so we played with his "house" I made him out of a cardboard box. He loves this thing!

It has a door in one side and a window in the other. I left the top open for easy access.

It's in the garage right now and he plays with it when the car is not there. If it is too cold or too hot outside (and in the garage) I will bring it into the kitchen and he plays there. I've thought about covering it with cloth or painting it. Maybe one day when I'm not so lazy, or pregnant.

We voted for President when I was pregnant with Ethan (Nov 08) and Ethan got to vote in 09 and again this year 10. This year he wasn't too happy because he overheard some potential voting fraud going on. The volunteer was going to sign someone up to vote with a Credit Card! I'm pretty sure it has to be a Government Issued ID.
But that's okay. We got to vote!!

Animal Farm

Last week a petting zoo came to visit Ethan's school. He had a great time petting all the baby farm animals.

He loved the goats and wanted to pull their tails.

I really loved the piglets but he could care less. They were only a few weeks old and soooo cute!

He didn't like his hands getting dirty but Mom came prepared with hand sanitizer :)

We tried to get a group picture but someone wasn't cooperating. Hmmmm, who would that have been????

At the end of playground time all the kids line up and hold on to this "rope".

They all look so cute taking off for school!
