When I got back from OK last week, I told Eli the house seemed really messy and dirty to me. I felt like it was getting overwhelming and piling up around me. He told me it was because I had just come from my mom's house where it is always clean (except when Ethan and I are there!). I told my mom what he said because what women doesn't want to hear someone thinks her house is always clean?
Mom said to me: Don't worry about what your house looks like. You will have many years after your kids are gone to keep a clean house.

You have an adorable son! :-)
I agree with mom, I have four little ones and it's impossible to keep my home spotless. There will be tons of time to keep it clean once they've left the nest.
I spent the whole day yesterday Monday cleaning then I enjoyed the whole day Tuesday with my boys we went to a splash park and had a picnic lunch. Your moms right you will never look back and say wow I should have cleaned my bathrooms better.
Now that sounds like fantastic advice! Today I enjoyed a very restful day playing with Kidoodle and only venturing into Chore-Land to wash some very dirty dishes. I love not feeling bad about such things.
clean houses are totally overrated!
Proud of you for making such a wise decision!
Love,
Mom (JeeJee)
I have a very close lady friend from my church that has 2 grown children....her house is SPOTLESS and I have told her how much I wish my house was as clean as hers. Her response? "Oh honey, enjoy your children. You can have as clean a house as you want when they move out!"
So true! I know how you feel though, it is so hard to ignore the clutter, and causes stress, but enjoy your baby :)
what great advice!! I really need to take that advice from your mom and follow it - I really do stress about a clean house way too much and I just need to get over it. It is so hard for me though but i know it is something I will not regret later on. Thanks for this great post!
